Research your hotel well before booking!

If you are taking a trip for the first time to a new country – perhaps the Philippines? Then always research your hotel before you book. There are a lot of great sites which use the power of social media to give you a preview of the place before you book it so there is no excuse.

I always thought hotels in Manila were so expensive, and I Google’d to find out why and found this!

Trip advisor is an awesome website and I strongly recommend viewing your hotel before you book it there – in the case of this hotel it looked awful If you don’t mind expensive and want a guaranteed nice hotel then I have heard great things from friends about the Shangri-la in Makati.

If you are flying to the Philippines to meet a girl you could always take her somewhere nice outside of the city. You will have a local guide as a bonus and the prices aren’t so high (and you can get more for your money) outside of Manila too.
